BACKGROUND
The company was founded in Singapore in the year 2007 to recycle large commercial volumes of organic agricultural and horticultural waste into valuable high quality organic fertilizer/compost. Using a unique fermentation and manufacturing process, it is able to recycle as much as 300 tons per day of organic waste. The advantageous geographical location of GreenBack allows it to easily reach out to its potential markets in Asia where huge volumes of organic waste are generated and indiscriminately disposed of by burning and dumping annually. The product which it produces can be widely applied as soil amendments and substitutes for chemical fertilizers in the many surrounding agricultural regions where arable land suitable for farming is fast depleting.
In mid 2009, GreenBack operates its first composting plant of a capacity of 200 tons per day which processes horticultural waste such as tree pruning and shrubs that Singapore daily produces. Within a short span of time, it has become a compost of choice of many leading landscapers, nurseries and gardeners in Singapore. Its high quality products and attractive pricing have also been of keen interests to many who are overseas.
GreenBack hopes to be a significant player in environmental repair and increasing crop yields via soil amendment and organic fertilization.
