1. RECYCLING OF HORTICULTURE AND CROP WASTE
GreenBack provides environmental friendly mass recycling of up to 300 tonnes per day of 100% green waste and crop waste, processing them into high grade organic fertilizer/compost.
2. MANUFACTURING OF ORGANIC FERTILIZER/COMPOST
We are the biggest producer of organic fertilizer/compost in Singapore with the ability to produce commercial quantities of up to 300 tonnes per day. Our product complies with National Park’s CUGE (Centre for Urban Greenery & Ecology) Standard Series CS A02:2009 Specifications on Properties and Planting Media, – Specifications for Composts and Mulches. As part of the manufacturing process, the organic fertilizer/compost is pasteurised/sanitised at above 55°C over a period of not less than 12 days to ensure that all pathogens, weed seeds and soil bacteria are destroyed. Hence, our product does not emit unpleasant odours and is 100% free of pests such as millipedes and harmful bacteria. Customers may use our product as a soil amendment or as a substrate in their value adding process according to their needs. We are able to manufacture organic fertilizers/compost from most types of green and crop waste such as rice stalks, oil palm tree, sugar cane, fruit trees, vegetables and etc, thus eliminating the need to slash and burn crop waste.
3. OFFERING ENVIRONMENT REPAIR SOLUTIONS:
♦ Creating Arable Lands and Restoring Soil Fertility
The total area of arable land in the world continues to shrink due to human and climatic factors such as deforestation and desertification. However, non-arable land can be converted into arable land when organic fertilizer/compost is applied and mixed with the soil to loosen it and restore the fertility of the soil. Arable land increases food production, solves global concern of food security and enables a country to be less dependent on food imports.
♦ Stop Soil Erosion Caused by Water/Wind
The erosion of soil by water and top soil by wind could be prevented by means of applying organic fertilizer/compost to facilitate the growth of turf or plants which roots hold soil together.
♦ Reduce Environmental Pollution
GreenBack can recycle and turn crop waste into useful organic fertilizer as opposed to many farmers and commercial plantations in developing countries which use the slash and burn method as a fast and cheap way to rid themselves of crop waste – resulting in air pollution, land and water contamination. Existing farming practices of using extensive chemical fertilizers pollute our water sources. By using more organic fertilizer / compost and less chemical fertilizer will mitigate such problem.
♦ Preservation of Delicate Ecosystem in Peat Lands/Wetlands
Organic fertilizer/compost is an alternative to peat. Usage of organic fertilizer/compost will mean that large areas of natural peat lands/wetlands will be saved from further degradation through the harmful exploitation and harvest of peat.
